To our valued clients and customers,
Firstly, the staff here at Cornerstone hopes this correspondence finds you well.
As our community at large is facing the unprecedented impacts and subsequent measures from the onset of the COVID–19 virus, it is without a doubt also presenting new challenges on how we will sustain our services to you over this period of uncertainty.
Our first and foremost consideration will be the safety and well being of our staff. To that end, Cornerstone will be implementing the following measures as of the 18th March 2020.
Meetings with our Staff
Person to person meetings with our staff, until otherwise advised, will be limited to matters of emergency and those deemed a high priority only. We encourage all other meetings to be carried out via phone or other video streaming media and kindly ask that visits to our office be postponed. To avoid any offence, please ensure you contact our office to arrange a time to appropriately speak with our staff as unannounced attendance to our office will unfortunately not be accommodated.
Inspections
Until a direction to isolate is issued, you are welcome to continue to book inspections in line with the following provisions.
Where possible, the booking of the inspection is made at a time where the site is clear of persons
Where the site is occupied, the occupants are to practise Government sanctioned measures relating to the restriction off person to person contact
The person booking the inspection MUST notify the Cornerstone staff member assisting of any persons residing at the site who has been recently travelling overseas, is in quarantine, or, is displaying symptoms of the COVID-19 virus. If the Cornerstone staff reasonably feels there may be a risk to our attending staff member, the inspection may be postponed and/or reschedule for another time.
Where a Cornerstone staff member attending a site reasonably feels a person is not well, the staff member is not required to enter the site and/or premises and reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule the inspection. Please note that re-inspection fees may apply
If the direction to isolate is issued, any prearranged inspections will be unfortunately cancelled and notice given via email to the Building Approval Applicant. Any disruption to the building process, contractual or otherwise, due to our inability to attend site is unfortunately not the responsibility of Cornerstone Building Certification and will be in no way responsible for any loss or damages due to delays
External applications affected by delays
Applications lodged to external parties such as Local Authorities etc, by Cornerstone on behalf of our clients are unfortunately out of our control once submitted, and may be subject to delays should the relevant body impose work restriction. We do apologies in advance for any delays in this regard.
Working from Home
Our staff’s wellbeing is our main priority, but keeping our clients moving is as equally important. At such a time that our staff are not permitted to attend our office, our work from home processes will commence ensuring our doors will remain open. Should this happen, we do ask for patience over this time as working remotely can affect our efficiencies. All efforts to minimise the disruption to you will be taken.
We’ll be constantly monitoring the unfolding situation and will provide updates to you on any developments that may change our current measures.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding over this time and wish you, your associates and family well.
